Goodrich Petroleum To Increase New Well Drilling In Tuscaloosa
In a recent statement by Goodrich Petroleum, it has been announced that the oil company plans to expand it’s oil drilling activities in the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale-an area known for its richness in shale oil.
The announcement also noted that the company has begun to drill a new well in West Feliciana Parish and has additional plans to commence drilling two more wells in Amite County, Mississippi in the very near future.
This news comes hot on the heels of growing public concern of the process of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) of rocks to extract oil using chemicals and millions of gallons of water under very high pressure. It’s believed that this process has led to the destruction of many, once-fertile areas of land, along with unknown damages to the water table and other elements far beneath the surface.
